The 2022 Spanish Trial Championship has kicked off in Arteixo, A Coruña. The first two scoring races for this CET season have been held there. Under an absolutely impeccable organization, the MC Arteixo has prepared a technical but affordable route for all levels, with hardly any waits for the pilots and first-class logistics.
In the sporting field we have Adam Raga as the new leader of the CET, after winning the second day and climbing the podium on Saturday, behind Jaime Busto, who on the other hand on Sunday climbed to the third box. Positive surprise for Jorge Casales on Saturday, who in his debut with Scorpa was third. On Sunday, the surprise was Gabriel Marcelli, who climbed to second place after a difficult first day, where he could only finish fourth.
Bad weekend for Miquel Gelabert, sixth both days behind his brother; his initial condition was to be one of the favourites for victory, as demonstrated by his pace in CET 2021.
A start to the championship that makes it clear that there will be an exciting fight for the title, with several favourite riders. We highlight the regularity of Raga and Busto, as well as the surprise of seeing Casales with a good rhythm on his Scorpa. Marcelli did his homework on Sunday and leaves a good feeling in the mouth outdoors.
VILA AND FABIÁN SHARE THE VICTORIES IN TR2
Gil Vila won in TR2 quite convincingly and feeling very confident all day on Saturday. Oriol Noguera and David Fabián qualified second and third, respectively. Same protagonists in this category on Sunday but finishing in different positions. Fabián won, Noguera was second and Vila third.
Nice fights in Junior, Cadet and Youth
Double victory for Marc Piquer in Junior. Although Mateu Crespi didn’t make things easy for him, he couldn’t beat him on Saturday. Hugo Barrera was third. On Sunday, Marc Freixa qualified second and Barrera, again, P3.
On Saturday in Cadet 125cc the protagonists were Marcos Combarro, Martí Escofet and Ángel Llopis and in Cadet Ramón Godino, Bernat Vendrell and Eneko Martínez. On day 2 of competition Escofet won, Combarro was second and Aniol Llamas third in Cadet 125cc and Martínez, Vendrell and Godino, in this order, did the same in Cadet.
Jorge Garcia climbed to the top step of the podium in Juvenil A on both Saturday and Sunday. Also on the two days Oriol García and Genís Forns had to settle for second and third, respectively, although the positions were exchanged. Roque Solorzano, Francisco Javier Osuna and Nico Rodriguez won in Juvenil B on Saturday and Xicu Mari and Roque and Rodriguez did the same on Sunday.
Doubles from Sanjuan, Comas, Ruiz and Pérez
Jordi Sanjuan did a great job in TR3 and climbed to the top step of the podium in his own right on Saturday. Jordi Camp had to settle for second and Rodrigo Marchal third. On Sunday, the result was repeated, but Berta Abellán managed to finish third, taking the position from Marchal. Dani Comas won in TR4 on both days, Adriá Albejano was second on Saturday Joan Ricart on Sunday. Héctor Gairin was third on both days. On the other hand, in TR5 Manuel Ruiz won, leaving Manuel Revilla and Ignacio Domínguez as second and third, respectively. This happened on Saturday but on Sunday and again with Ruiz in the lead, Alvaro Vidal was second and Revilla third.
In Veteran A, Víctor Miguel Pérez was the best on both days, although Jesús Martín was only 1 point behind on Saturday. Yago Parellada closed the top three in this category. On Sunday, Juan M. Filgueiras placed second, leaving Martín behind. Manuel Panizo, Antonio Roberto Osuna and Jose Luis Lopez won in Veteran B on Saturday and Miguel Angel Marquez, Jose Ramon Alvarez and Juan Nieto on Sunday.
Pi, Hernando, Muñoz and Lladó, the best in the Women’s category
As far as the three categories of Female are concerned, Laia Pi won in Women’s TR1, Mariona Tasias was second and Eva Muñoz third on Saturday, repeating the result on Sunday but without Eva competing in this category. On Saturday and in Women’s TR2 Daniela Hernando took the victory leaving Lucía Gómez in P2 but on Sunday Eva participated here and won, Daniela was second and Lucía third. Alexia Lladó was the protagonist of Femenino TR3 on both days. Sara Dieguez qualified second and Jimena Leboreiro third the first and Yaiza Blanco and Jimena herself the second.
