The
Montesa Cota 301RR
75th Anniversary, which replaces its predecessor, presents interesting novelties in terms of design and aesthetics, paying a lot of attention to detail. In this sense, it is worth highlighting the new red color of the fuel tank, a clear nod to the classic color that many of the brand’s models have worn throughout its history. Red is also present on the stickers located on the frame just below the tank.

FORK DETAILS

Also noteworthy are the fork bottles, which change the gold color of the previous model for black, on which the elegant logo of Montesa’s 75th Anniversary stands out, which is also present in other parts of the Cota to remind its proud owner that this is an exclusive model.

The new design of the rear fender gives the Cota 301RR 75th Anniversary a distinctive look. In addition, it is wider at the end to better protect from splashes in wet areas.

RED AND GREY COLOURS

All in all, the new red and grey colour combination, together with the black of the frame, rims and decorative stripes make the

THIS IS THE MONTESA COTA 301RR

The 301RR is the most powerful Cota ever produced. It is a motorcycle designed for racing, hence its surname RR (Race Ready). The model has the proven experience inherited from the competition machines used by the Montesa riders in the Trial World Championship, from which it adopts most of its components and technical solutions.
The engine remains unchanged compared to its predecessor, which increased its displacement from the 288cc that the
Montesa Cota 300RR
had to 299cc (maximum displacement allowed in the Trial2 World Championship), increasing the size of the piston and cylinder.

In addition to this increase in displacement, the Cota 301RR benefited from a number of major changes to the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) along with a redesign of the gas decompression system, increasing the diameter of the crankcase breather from 1.9mm to 2.25mm, identical to the TrialGP world champion bike of Toni Bou and Fujinami.
These modifications achieve a clear reduction in engine braking, which results in greater control and lightness of the assembly.
On the other hand, greater inertia was achieved in the crankshaft to achieve greater progressivity. In this way, a notable improvement in the response in low and mid levels is achieved and a behavior more similar to the motorcycles competing in the World Championship.

In this sense, it is worth highlighting the perfect connection between the throttle control and the final transmission, a key aspect in the top-level trial and in which the exquisiteness of the PGM-FI electronic fuel injection system is of vital importance.

MONTESA COTA CYCLE PART 301RR

The Cota 301RR 75th Anniversary continues to rely on a lightweight aluminum frame and swingarm of proven reliability and performance. It is equipped with the lobed brake discs that are fitted to the racing team’s machines on both trains, using the FIM-approved rear disc. In this way, you now get more bite and more power of
braking on both trains.

Continuing with the similarities with the Montesa of the Trial World Championship, it has the aluminum silencer, which increases the resistance, increasing the volume of the silencer and the diameter of the inner tube. Compared to the Cota 300RR model, the 301RR benefits from a noticeable increase in torque throughout the rev range, benefiting from up to 16% more power and torque in the low and mid range.

The Cota 301 75th Anniversary continues to feature the lightweight TECH suspension fork with aluminum bars and lightweight wheel hubs machined from aluminum, solutions that result in significant weight savings. At the rear, it continues to be equipped with a SHOWA shock absorber that contributes to improved traction.
