SPEA RFME Spanish Trial Championship has passed through Olván (Barcelona) this weekend. For this event, the TR1 category was not called, so the rest of the registrants have been able to compete without being in the shadow of the world championship stars.
The crowd responded magnificently by filling each of the 15 scheduled zones and Saturday’s qualifying area. With the organization in the hands of the Moto Club Baix Bergueda, 124 registered and perfect weather, the show was guaranteed.
Sergio Ribau new leader in TR2
It was a nice battle between Pablo Suárez – the fastest man in Qualifying – and Sergio Ribau for the victory. The Sherco rider had an unbeatable first lap, scoring only three points compared to the five scored by Canales and the seven recorded by Suárez, Miguel and Vila. On the second lap Suárez was the finest with only two feet, although it was not enough to bring Sergio Ribau down from the top step of the podium. In addition to the victory, he took the lead of the category.
Women’s: Neus Murcia imposes its law
Among the girls, the most forceful was Neus Murcia. The Gas Gas rider was very regular and took advantage of a fiasco by Berta Abellán in the second round (zone 6) to achieve the victory. Vertigo’s was second and María Giró third. In Women’s B, Mariona Tasias was tied on points with María Feliu, but the former added more zeros and won the gold.
Junior for Martinez and TR3 for Horrach
Absolute domination of Pau Martínez in Junior. Only one point on the day of racing compared to the five of his main pursuer Raúl Guimera. The podium was completed by Jordi Lestang.
In the TR3 category it was the Zona Gas rider Marc Horrach who took the victory in an exciting duel with Francesc Recio. Just one point difference between the two at the end of the day. Dani Comas climbed to the third step of the podium. In TR4 Sergio Puyo surprised with a clean sheet and in Veterans it was Xavier Vilaseca who was the clear reference with only one point.
Cadet & Juvenile
Among the youngest participants, the performances of Gaudí Vall in Cadete stood out, who achieved a comfortable victory. In Juvenil A Nil Riera did the same while in Juvenil B Arnau Maura won the race.
The next round will be the SPEA RFME Spanish Trial Championship in Andorra on May 4 and 5.
