This year the popular festival of the Montesistas celebrated its 18th edition in the Barcelona town of Tona. The special edition 50th Anniversary of La Cota was one of the main focuses of attention.
Not even the bad weather forecasts were an impediment for the thousands of motorcycling and
Montesa
enthusiasts who once again gathered at the popular Montesada, which this year celebrated its 18th edition.
The Barcelona town of Tona was once again the perfect setting to host this annual meeting of Montesistas. The Montesa spirit was more alive than ever, as it was a very special edition that celebrated the half century of life of the popular Cota.
Those attending the Montesada had the opportunity to see up close the exclusive special edition of the Montesa
Cota 50th Anniversary
, of which only 50 units will be manufactured at the Montesa Honda facilities in Santa Perpètua de Mogoda, for the whole world. In addition to this anniversary, the Montesada also wanted to celebrate the 24 world titles of
Toni Bou
, the most successful rider in the history of motorcycling. Undoubtedly, Toni’s contribution has been key to Montesa’s showcases already showing a total of 65 world crowns.
SPARE PARTS FOR MONTESA
Precisely, the riders of the powerful official Repsol Honda Team, the world champion Toni Bou, and Takahisa Fujinami; Trial2 World Champion Matteo Grattarola; and all the members of the Montesa Talent School, delighted the attendees, who had the opportunity to practice trial together with their idols. In addition, the riders made all the fans enjoy their spectacular demonstrations, even performing incredible areas, such as the so-called “impossible climb”, with which some of the fans present also dared.
On the other hand, the little ones were able to enjoy an area with a children’s circuit with electric motorcycles. Apart from the trial, the Montesada had an exhibition area for
classic motorcycles
, and the organization of an Impalada, making it very clear that the Montesa brand is still very much alive.
In this way, both the most mountaineers and all motorcycle enthusiasts enjoyed an unforgettable day together with the best trial riders in the world.
