Toni Bou regained the lead of the championship a week ago after winning the X-Trial in Bilbao after a head-to-head until the last section with Adam Raga.
On this occasion, in Granada, he had the opportunity to further consolidate the lead, as his closest rival in the classification, Adam Raga, occupied the third step of the podium, after a great Jaime Busto.
In the first phase, Sondre Haga, Aniol Gelabert, who was making his debut in an X-Trial, and Gabriel Marcelli, who did not make it past this round by just one point, were eliminated. The key in this first round was in the first zone, which was only surpassed by Bou, Busto and Fajardo. Raga failed and scored two points again in the second zone, charging his card and delaying him to fifth position. This meant that, for the first time, Bou and Raga played the semi-final in the same group, which meant that one of the two would not be in the grand final.
The semi-final had two groups. Raga, Bou and Gelabert. On the other hand, Fajardo, Busto and Bincaz. The latter started the duel, with a really superb Busto and a Bincaz following the rhythm until the last area. In the first group, Bou left no margin for his rivals. With a card of only one point, he guaranteed his presence in the grand final, this time against Busto.
This grand final was one of the most complicated on the calendar. Bou simply dazzled with a technical, effective and spectacular driving. Busto, who also lifted the crowd from the seat, only managed to overcome two of the six zones, although leaving a great taste in the mouth.
The third position went to Adam Raga who sweated to beat Bincaz in the four zones where this podium was disputed.
In short, Bou leaves Granada eight points ahead of Raga with two races to go, Marseille and Andorra, so he has everything very much in his favour to renew the title.
