Victory for Cabestany and title for Bou at CET in Andorra

Toni Bou has been proclaimed absolute Spanish Champion for the ninth time after being second in the Andorran town of Sant Julià de Lòria; headquarters again of the SPEA RFME Spanish Trial Championship two years later. Albert Cabestany took the win, while his teammate Miquel Gelabert took third place.

Toni Bou has equalled Jordi Tarrés as the most successful rider in the absolute category of the Spanish Trial Championship.
Gabriel Marcelli, in TR2; David Millán, in TR3; and Martín Riobo, in Junior, were the other riders who also won the title in their respective categories.
A total of 76 drivers have taken the start in this seventh race of 2017, the penultimate valid for TR1 this season.
After a three-month hiatus as a result of the summer holidays and the outcome of the TrialGP World Championship, the SPEA RFME Spanish Trial Championship 2017 has been reactivated this weekend in the Andorran town of Sant Julià de Lòria. This small town nestled in the Country of the Pyrenees has been, after resting in 2016, the epicentre of this new CET test. To be exact, from the sixth round scoring for TR1, the highest level of difficulty and demand of the championship. In addition to the top class, TR2, TR3, TR4, Junior and Cadet have also come into action.
No less than a total of 76 riders have taken the start in this seventh race of 2017, the penultimate valid for the top class of the National this season.
The Federació Motociclista d’Andorra has been in charge of bringing this GP’Andorra 2017 to a successful conclusion; an event whose route, with a total of 12 sections and to be overcome in two laps, has recovered part of the sections seen three years ago during the last visit of the Trial of Nations to Andorran lands.

TONI BOU SPANISH TRIAL CHAMPION 2017

Toni Bou (Montesa-HRC) won his ninth Spanish crown today; the seventh in a row with his current team and record. He did so after finishing second, thus breaking his immaculate streak of victories that he treasured in 2017 in the TR1 CET. However, this place has been enough for him to mathematically secure the title after his main rival for it, Adam Raga (TRRS), finished in fifth position.

By the way, Bou has equalled Jordi Tarrés as the most successful rider in the premier class of the Spanish Championship.
The winner in Andorra was Albert Cabestany (Sherco). The Tarragona native, who had not climbed to the top of the podium since Peñarroya 2011, closed the first pass through the mandatory zones with a total of 5 points, while in the second entry into them – TR1 is the only category in which its riders pass twice in a row through the same area before undertaking the next – he has penalized 10 points. Bou, second in second place, did so after accumulating 16 and 4 points, respectively. Miquel Gelabert, on the other hand, needed 19 and 8 points to climb to the last place on the podium for the second time this season.

GABRIEL MARCELLI RULES IN TR2

The silver category of CET 2017, TR2, has crowned Gabriel Marcelli for the sixth consecutive time with a total of 6 points; 12 less than Aniol Gelabert, second, and 30 less than Eric Miquel, finally third. In this way, the Galician rider becomes the new monarch of the category.
In the rest of the levels in action, the winners were the following riders: David Millán, in TR3; Guiem Soler, in TR4; Martín Riobo, in Junior; and Pau Martínez, in Cadet. Millán and Riobo have also managed to win the title.
