Toni Bou conquers Andorra and is the leader of the world championship

Toni Bou has just completed a perfect weekend at the Andorra Grand Prix, a particularly important event for a world champion, as it is where he lives and trains, as well as being, traditionally, a stage where he struggles to win.
The 2016 edition of the Andorran GP has had two very different faces. On Saturday, with a difficult race with high scores (45 points winner) due to the rain the day before, and Sunday, rather simple (4 points for the winner) for the best riders in the world.

THE KEYS TO THE ANDORRA TRIAL GP

  • Sixth victory for Toni Bou, the fifth in a row, allowing him to increase his lead as championship leader to 17 points.
  • Adam Raga is in spectacular form. He continues to test Toni Bou in every race and the only one capable of intimidating him. On Sunday, both riders made a second pass through the 18 sections without penalty.
  • Jaime Busto is close to the podium on both days. The first day would have been his (and not Fujinami’s) if he hadn’t been flagged as a fiasco for stopping in the last area.
  • Fujinami is having a great championship. In Andorra he managed to get a new podium and passes the halfway point of the championship in third position.
  • Jeroni Fajardo takes his first podium with Vertigo on Sunday.
  • It was a good weekend for Jorge Casales, who was in the Top 10 on both days, and for Miquel Gelabert, who finished in ninth place on Saturday.

Next week the championship activity continues with the French GP, in Lourdes, where a double day
of trial competition
will take place.
