Magnificent weekend for Marc Riba in Valencia. The Spanish Trial Championship held its third round of the season without the company of the TR1 riders, so all the prominence of the day was for the TR2.
Marc Riba, the reigning Spanish Champion in the TR2 category, reconciled himself with the victory after a start to the season in which his results have gone from less to more until he managed to return to the top of the podium. The current leader of the Championship, José María Moral, has only been able to finish seventh after a complicated start to the day, where he accumulated 25 points during the first pass through the zones, records far from the podium positions, which were signed by Riba, Gelabert and Obradó with 4, 7, and 11 points respectively.
There were no surprises on the second and last laps, confirming the top three finishers from the opening stage as the same protagonists of the podium.
Marc Riba (Gas Gas): “A priori, after the reconnaissance of the previous day’s sections, this third round of the TR2 national seemed complicated. We were afraid of losing more feet than necessary due to its difficulty, but after finishing the first lap we saw that it didn’t have to be that way, we finished with only four penalty points, which is very good. And then, in the second half, we rounded off a good day by adding just three more feet. A total of seven, a result for which we should be happy since, in addition to the victory, we are taking the pulse of my Gas Gas and also the championship.”
