What’s wrong with Vertigo?

dabillvertigo Vertigo Combat Vertigo is probably not having a dream debut in competition. At the moment, its official rider, James Dabill, has signed two penultimate positions and a sixth place in the three races of the indoor world championship.

The reading that can be made at the halfway point of this particular championship is far from pessimistic. Quite the opposite. Vertigo made the brave decision to sign one of the best riders in the world, James Dabill, who in addition to being the current British champion, is in the fierce fight to regularly enter the records of the “top 5” of the world championship.

The Vertigo was unveiled at the beginning of November at the Milan Motor Show, a month later Dabill began training with the new Combat and just three weeks later was making its debut in Sheffield. A credit to the rider and the team.

The Particularity of the regulations that govern indoor trial, where eight drivers are playing for four places in the final across five zones where there is only one minute of time, means that the real assessment of the work behind it by James, Lampkin and the team is not palpable. In addition, the proximity between races makes it difficult to evolve or train periods.

dabillvertigo2Therefore, at Vertigo they are surely taking the indoor world championship as an adaptation between bike and rider, as well as a great commercial showcase, since in a couple of months the races will all be outdoors, with almost 30 non-stop zones. In other words, nothing to do with what we are experiencing in these early stages of the year.

During the 2015 outdoor season James Dabill will fight to get closer to the top 5, but always keeping an eye on the evolution of the great promises of trial, such as Casales, Karlsson, Busto, Tarrés, Gubian or Ferrer, who are getting stronger and stronger and also seek to get as close as possible to the records of Fajardo, Fujinami, Cabestany, Raga and Bou.

Therefore, it is worth waiting a couple of months and seeing how the new Vertigo performs in more demanding conditions and a race format where they have more room to recover from possible mistakes.

In any case, we must congratulate Vertigo, Lampkin and Dabill for the courage with which they are facing this start of the season.

Cheers to James Dabill and the entire Vertigo team.
