Raga beats Fajardo and Bou in Pobladura de las Regueras

Raga Pobladura14The XXIII Trial of Pobladura de las Regueras started with the dispute of the third and last challenge of the season for the categories Youth A and B and Women A and B; the first champions of the CET 2014 that crowned their new champions. In addition to these four levels, pilots participating in TR4 and Cadet also took the start on Saturday, while on Sunday it was the turn of the rest of the categories, with Adam Raga as the great dominator in TR1, beating Fajardo and Bou, who starred in a nice fight with Cabestany, who was left out by the tiebreaker of zeros.

In Juvenil A , reserved for riders with bikes up to 125 cc from 10 years old to 13 or who turn 14 during this 2014, Martín Riobó won the championship, and in the end the championship. The Galician, winner in the previous round held in Cangas del Morrazo (Pontevedra), won again after completing the two regulation laps of the 12 mandatory zones marked by the Club Deportivo Pobladura de las Regueras with a total of 17 points.

In second place was his main rival for the title, the Frenchman Hugo Dufrese , the best in Parcmotor Castellolí, the initial race, and who arrived here, in León equal with Riobó at the head of the table. His final card, with 26 points. Finally, Rodrigo Marchal, with 32 points, completed the podium.

There was just as much or more excitement in Juvenil B, a class reserved for riders with motorcycles up to 125 cc from 10 years old to 12 or who turn 13 during 2014. Not surprisingly, Baptiste Llorens opened his winning streak after beating Pau Martínez, the winner of the first two rounds, by just two points. Llorens totaled 32 points, while Martinez, the new champion, needed two more to complete the mandatory course. Pol Mediñà, with 41 points, took third place on the podium.

In Women’s A, the premier category reserved for girls, there was no surprise either and Sandra Gómez clearly conquered her third victory of the season by scoring only 30 points. In this way, she has regained the title of Spanish Champion of the specialty that last season was snatched from her by her teammate in the RFME SPEA National Team in the Trial of Nations, Mireia Conde; second place here and ultimately runner-up with 57 points. Her teammate in the TdN, Elisabet Solera, closed the places of honor 37 points behind the winner.

Sandra Pobladura14For her part, Alba Lara, who like Gómez also arrived in Pobladura without knowing defeat, completed her participation in Féminas B with a full of victories. Her main rivals at this level, Mireia Lozano and Andrea Mira were classified in that order and then in this last round of 2014.

In Cadet and TR4, the other two classes that also entered the fray on Saturday, Gabriel Marcelli and Adrià Albejano won, respectively. The first, with a final cumulative of only 15 points. Albejano, on the other hand, did the same after finishing with 47 penalties.

DAY 2. ADAM RAGA SURPRISES AND BEATS FAJARDO AND BOU

After yesterday’s dispute of the third and last round of the CET 2014 for the Youth A and B categories and Female A and B, as well as the fifth valid for the TR4 and Cadet classes, today it was the turn of the TR1, TR2, TR3 and Junior levels.

The lRains that fall during the night, and which have continued for much of the morning, have forced the organization to Modify the planned route before the departure of the participants for Sunday, and that the TR1 passes by passing twice in a row through each of the 12 regulation zones.

Well, as was the case in 2005, 2007 and 2008, the overall victory in Pobladura de las Regueras (León) was won by Adam Raga. The Gas Gas rider took his first win in the CET 2014 and did so with a very solid and confident ride. Raga won with a total of 15 points; six less than Jeroni Fajardo, who was in second place. Until the last two sections, the Beta rider was arguing for first place with Raga, but seven points in the last four sections have left him second and unable to repeat the victory he already achieved here in 2006.

The last place on the podium went to Toni Bou , winner of the Leonese event in 2009, 2010 and 2012. The reigning champion, winner of the previous two races valid for TR1, finished with a total of 22 points; the same penalties as Albert Cabestany, relegated to fourth place in the tiebreaker by zeros.

This victory, Raga climbs to second place in the overall standings in TR1 and is just seven points behind leader Bou. Third is now Fajardo, one point behind the Gas Gas rider. In this same category, the pilots of the RFME SPEA National Team Pol Tarrés and Oriol Noguera They finished in fifth and eighth place, respectively. Noguera’s final position was very meritorious, since after suffering a heavy fall in zone 4, the rider from Barcelona wanted to continue in the race and finish his participation on the bike.

For his part, Jaime Busto , the other member of the junior national team present in TR1 and absent in Andorra, the previous appointment due to injury, has done so in seventh place. The Basque rider, along with Noguera , who is making his debut this season in the top category of the CET, has shown signs of being
He has already recovered from the intercostal injury that he had been carrying since the last European GP and that forced him to stop in his tracks two weeks ago.

In the rest of the categories in contention, which have a maximum time of four and a half hours to do two laps of the route, the winners have been the following. In TR2, Arnau Farré , who won his first victory of the season in Pobladura after beating Miquel Gelabert, the fourth rider of the RFME SPEA National Team and still leader at this level, by just two points.

For his part, Francesc Recio took his fourth win of 2014 in TR3 after missing the previous round, while Marc Riba did not want to be outdone by his teammate Recio and also won his fourth first place of the season in Junior.

The next round of CET 2014 will be held on September 28 in the town of Candeleda (Ávila) and will be in charge of the Moto Club Candeleda. There will be no Youth A and B or Females A and B, who yesterday crowned their new champions. Yes, on the other hand, TR1, TR2, TR3, TR4, Junior and Cadet.

Adam Raga: “I’m very happy with my win today. Yesterday, when we were examining the areas, they were dry. However, today, with the rain, the terrain was very complicated. Today everything went well until I got to the third and fourth sections, where first I made a small mistake and then I lost my tires. I’ve strung together two fives in a row and that put me behind. But I was able to come back and finally win the first race of the year at the nationals.”

Toni Bou: “Starting ahead in the Spanish Championship takes its toll and, although in Andorra I was able to recover some mistakes, here I have not been able to improve much the two mistakes I have had in the sections. We have to learn from those mistakes, to try to improve so that it doesn’t happen in the future. I felt comfortable riding the bike, and if the starting order had been different, I think I could have had a better race. The end result is good: being on the podium is always positive and the best thing is that we maintain the first position in the championship.”

Arnau Farré: “We started very well, scoring zeros in several areas, although the ones on the river didn’t go so well. But I recovered in zones seven and eight, and also in the twelfth where I started with a zero. I think that’s where we’ve made the difference. The second lap went just as well as the first, except for the five in zone nine and the indoor, although apart from that, I think we had a good race. It’s my first victory in the national championship and I have to keep working so that there are more days like today”

Jorge Casales: “Yesterday was a difficult test and today, with the rain, even more. We had to do a lap to see the changes that have been made. I had a good start, but two mistakes in zone eight and eleven set me back in qualifying and, in the end, I was sixth. I think we’ve done a good job with the team. We’ve all started very strong from the start and we have to keep working because we’re getting closer and closer”

Sandra Gomez: “It was a very nice race, the truth is that I was quite comfortable throughout the day, I liked the sections a lot and the truth is that I enjoyed it. I’m very happy to have won the championship, because I hadn’t won it for two years, it was resisting me, and finally this year I managed to win all three races. Thank you very much to all the sponsors, to my brand, to my family, to the people who follow me, as I always say that this is a team and it is everyone’s work, so… Congratulations!”
