The 2014 Venezuelan National kicks off

venezuelatrial14This Sunday, February 9, the 1st Round of the “Venezuelan Trial Championship” was held at the facilities of the “Hacienda La Ceiba” in the municipality of El Hatillo.

This event of the Venezuelan Motorcycling Federation (FMV) brought together an outstanding group of exponents of this sport practice with more than 50 years of tradition in Venezuela.

In the riverbed and banks of the Tusmare River, the competition took place in 3 laps through 6 areas very well designed by the brothers Hernando and José Ignacio Rivas.

Medium-grip land with steep slopes, avoiding large trees, as well as areas in the riverbed with large natural stones and others using the infrastructure of the place, bridges and concrete canals, offered a varied scenario where the pilots could show off in front of a crowded audience to give a great Trial show.

Honor Roll

The day passed throughout the morning in the middle of an overflowing landscape, where there were close duels such as the one between the Rivas brothers and the little giant David Avendaño, who continues to grow and stand up to his rivals in the TR1 category at just 13 years old. José Ignacio Rivas was in first place, Hernando Rivas in second and Avendaño in third.

In the TR 1A category, drivers Rubén Castro and Federico Rodríguez stood on the podium in first and second place respectively. And in the Open category, Aníbal Martignani did it. The absence of the usual riders from Anzoátegui and Carabobo became notorious, who, faced with the existing problems due to the difficulties imposed by the authorities to transport motorcycles on the country’s roads, did not take the risk, preferring not to attend the competition.

In the TR 2 category, veteran Luis “Lobo” Blanco  comfortably took first place with only 18 fouls. While Luis Mujica and Oswaldo Pestana were placed in second and third places.

In the children’s category, Jonathan Pestana continues to show his talent by obtaining first place with only 4 fouls, followed by Eloy Rodríguez in the second and Cristina Castro in the third. This trio of riders has been consolidating their training as a relay generation of Venezuelan trial.

Luxury equipment

In the event, it is worth highlighting the participation of the young Federico Leonard, Yesenia Ochoa, Elías Gerstl, César Mendoza, Frederick Ortiz and Daniel Mendoza who made their debut as zone judges, playing their role with a high level. Under the general coordination of Fernando Bonet , president of the National Trial Commission, who on this occasion served as Race Director. Ricardo Sarabasa, director of the FMV and president of the National Enduro Commission, accompanied the event.

The second round of the Venezuelan Trial Championship will be held on March 9 at the El Solar Trialódromo in El Hatillo.

The Venezuelan Trial Championship is grateful for the support of Volcan Bike, Cachaperros, Grafic Master, Formato Comunicaciones and Trial Venezuela.
