The Motoclub Mas Gas returns to organize for the fifth consecutive time the Maeztu Classics trial. Just like the previous yearThe event will be held in the month of September, on the 14th and 15th. Nationally recognized for the balanced level, the incomparable landscape, the organizational quality and the varied terrain with stone and earth of which the areas are made up makes it a must-try event in the classics calendar.
In this edition, the Maeztu Trial is part of the Sotobike Team Trophy, being the second round of this Trophy after the Robregordo race. You can check the specific rules of the trophy on the Sotobike website.
IMPORTANT NOVELTIES THIS YEAR
This year we have interesting novelties that will undoubtedly make what was already one of the benchmark trials on the calendar now become an unforgettable weekend for everyone. The men of the Mas Gas motorcycle club are sparing no effort to follow him.
On the one hand, this year the trial will be held over two days , Saturday and Sunday, so riders who have to travel from afar no longer have an excuse.
Each day the trial will consist of 20 sections, which will be carried out in a single lap. The areas will be of great beauty and of purely classical style, making the most of the excellent terrain around Maeztu for the practice of Trial. The areas will be marked, as usual for three levels of difficulty: Yellow, green and blue.
The route will run between the towns of Maeztu and Sabando, and will therefore be longer than in previous years. The paddock will be located in the town of Maeztu as in past editions.
. Due to the longer length of the route, it will be necessary to refuel halfway through the route, so the refuelling of the motorcycle and rider is planned at the halfway point of the race.
The time allowed for the trial will be 6 hours on Saturday and 5 hours on Sunday, this being more than enough time to complete the route without haste and enjoying the race and the environment to the fullest.
In addition, to facilitate the attendance of the public, it will be possible to follow the race on a motorcycle by companions and fans.
There will also be additional activities around the trial. On the Saturday after the trial, a snack will be organized for all the riders and companions in the Izki bar, while it will be accompanied by some typical activity of the area. All those who attended last year will have great memories of the demonstration of Aizkolaris (log cutters) and Harrijasotzailes (stone lifters) that delighted the attendees, and even managed to encourage some brave trialists to try.
Finally, we will have the presence of two of the legendary trial riders in our country: Jordi Tarrés and Amos Bilbao.
DIFFICULTY LEVEL
The areas will be marked with the criterion of making a trial accessible to everyone, to enjoy the classic trial to the fullest, and always avoiding passes that may involve some danger.
In particular, in The yellow level will try to simplify the zones with the aim of making the most of the weekend for all drivers to enjoy the weekend to the fullest, taking into account that at this level riders with older bikes tend to participate and also riders who participate in trials occasionally, or who did it years ago but have not done so for a long time.

REGISTRATIONS & LICENSES
Registrations will be open from now until 24 hours on Wednesday, September 11 and will be done through the Motoclub Sotobike website.
The registration fee will be €120 per rider for the two days and will include both the participation rights, as well as some details that we are preparing for the riders, as well as lunch on Saturday and Sunday at the end of the race, etc.
of the Trial will be in Maeztu As usual in the Sotobike trophy, the participation in the trial will be in teams of three riders, having to indicate which team each one belongs to at the time of formalizing the registration. In the event that a rider does not belong to a team, the organization will facilitate the formation of teams with the riders who are in this situation. Please note that the trophy regulations only allow the change of a single rider only once in each team throughout the trophy.
IMPORTANT: Due to the need to organize the trial by teams, having to organize many aspects of the trial around the teams, such as starting order, classifications, etc., and to try to avoid problems that we have seen in previous races it is very important that the registrations are closed on time. Likewise, we will not be able to accept late registrations, nor will we be able to accept last-minute changes such as modifications to the composition of the teams, or changes in the color of a rider’s zones, etc. This takes away a little of the flexibility that we have been able to have on other occasions, but it gives us the advantage of team participation, which contributes a lot to making a trial more interesting for everyone and with an unbeatable atmosphere.
As for the federation license, to participate in the trial you must have a national federation trial license or a regional license from any Spanish community. In addition, we are trying to negotiate advantageous conditions for obtaining the federation license of a single event so that those pilots who wish to live the experience but do not have a federation license will no longer have any excuse not to do so. We’ll let you know about this later.
