This is not the first time Sherco has launched a Replica, but they have already commemorated Graham Jarvis’ victory in the Six Days of Scotland held in 2004. Unlike its rival, the “Cabes” does not respond to the achievement of a world title, but the great role played in the Indoor World Championship, together with the growing demand for 2-stroke models at Sherco, the technical team captained by Josep Rovira Paxau has developed the racer-client version of the official machine ridden by Albert.

If the Gas Gas is a bike full of small details, but with a somewhat poorer technical preparation, Sherco has directed all efforts to increase the performance of the chassis and thermodynamics.

The first objective was to take advantage of the full potential of the standard 2.9 engine to optimise low-end response, for which a new cylinder head – aesthetically differentiated by its silver-grey colour – and a shorter exhaust manifold have been designed.

The next step was simpler, and that is that, simply replacing the standard Dell’Orto PHBL carburetor -26mm.- with a Keihin flat-gate -28mm.-, it is possible to imprint the necessary character in medium and high regime that a preparation of these characteristics needs.

The frame also receives new geometries, But the most relevant changes They particularly affect the configuration of the rear axle: now the swingarm is a few millimetres shorter and the footpegs have been relocated, so that by having a shorter wheelbase, and loading more of the rider’s weight on the rear wheel, the “Cabes” gains traction over the standard unit.

In addition, the standard Ollé shock absorber has given way to a completely new one, also signed by them, fully adjustable both in preload and rebound, and equipped with a different internal configuration to withstand the most extreme conditions. Continuing with the list of special components, we find new BRAKING brake discs model Wave, lighter and aesthetically very attractive.

Finally, the decoration also varies, whichcombines the usual colours of the 2006 range with red graphics with the “Cabestany” badge. However, lovers of this model will have to hurry, as Sherco only plans to manufacture 150 units of this model.
