In mid-2011 Xispa announced that it had obtained a final judicial decision from the French justice system that cleared up any doubts regarding acts of unfair competition, parasitism and slavish copying of its trial bike model alleged by Sherco, and which hindered Xispa’s entry into the French market.
The story has its origins in August 2007, when Xispa announces the market launch of its new prototype trial bike, at a price below what the market offered (30 to 40% cheaper than bikes in the same category): the X250 cc. This announcement is followed by a lawsuit against Xispa by Sherco, who accuses her of acts of unfair competition and servile cupping, among others.
In 2009, at first instance, the Commercial Court of Paris decided to partially uphold Sherco’s claims and condemn Xispa and its French distributor, also ordering the withdrawal of the motorcycles from the French market.
Following an appeal by Xispa,the decision was overturned by the Paris Court of Appeal in December 2010.

Today, Xispa Motorbikes offers a range of electric Children’s Trial models that You can see it at this link and, in addition, it has resumed activity with its “XL” model, called 250 Racing under the XPA brand. This brand was born from the hand of Alta Motor Group – an investment group, owner of XPA – although it has its roots in Xispa.
They continue to have the support of David Cobos as the developer of the bike and at the last Milan Motor Show they have shown at their stand the brand’s new plans, which involve fully entering the adult market with four models: 125R, 250R, 280R and 300R.
Although there is no official confirmation of availability and pricing, the XPA 250 Racing is expected in February the 250R model and it is estimated that at a cost higher than the first “Xispa”, which will range between 4,000 and 5000 euros. The rest of the versions could arrive in mid-2013. It is announced that the bike has approximately 85% of the components “made in Spain”.
