Full of victories for Laia Sanz in the World Cup

laia_gg_400After being crowned trial world champion for the 12th time, Sanz has once again won in Switzerland, taking her fifth win of the season.

For the Spaniard it was her 29th world championship victory and the 17th in a row since 2007, the only year she did not win the title.

A week after being proclaimed world champion for the twelfth time, Laia Sanz has won the fifth and final round of the women’s trial world championship, which was held on Friday in the Swiss town of Moutier.

The KH-7 rider closes the championship with a full of victories, after successfully overcoming the key week of the season, in which all the work of the year was at stake in three races, all of them in Switzerland, and in just seven days apart. Fortunately, and despite being forced to compete without being fully recovered from the spectacular injury to her foot, Laia only needed the first “match ball” to renew the title.

“It’s true that mathematically I could have saved myself the other two races, but with how little I’ve been able to touch the bike in the last two and a half months it was important for me to get back into the rhythm and confidence,”
he said.

Like last Saturday and Sunday in Tramelan, the rider from Corbera de Llobregat once again imposed her law on the handlebars of a Gas Gas and achieved her 17th consecutive victory since 2007, the only year she did not win the championship, and the 29th victory since she debuted in this competition in 2000.

“This time it was easier than the other day because in just one week the finger has improved dramatically. Now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! Today I was able to race with much more confidence and I felt very comfortable on the bike.”Testifies.

Laia only scored 4 penalty points and finished ahead of fellow Spaniard Sanda Gómez, who accumulated 15 points. Great Britain’s Rebekah Cook took third place on the podium with 16 points.
