Pol Tarres will not continue with JTG in 2013

pol_jtgSeptember is a critical month for the brands and riders, as all the fringes are tied up for next season. At the moment we know that Bou, Fujinami, Cabestany and Ferrer will continue with their current brands, but there can still be very important changes among the top riders who have not yet confirmed their future.

A few weeks ago we talked about the possible departure of James Dabill from Beta, foreseeably to take Michael Brown’s place at Gas Gas, although this approach could have cooled down.

A piece of information that does We can confirm exclusively that Pol Tarrés will leave the JTG structure at the end of the current 2012 campaign. The rider from Rellinars, fourth in the Junior World Championship, has set a Excellent season on the bike that his illustrious uncle, Jordi Tarrés, designed and later launched on the market in 2011.

The great work of evolution carried out by Pol was rewarded with a fantastic victory in the Japanese GP, to which we must add another four podiums and the feat of reaching the last stage of the calendar with options for the runner-up position.

Montesa or Sherco, your most likely future

Pol has not yet made a decision on his future, but there are three brands that could be interested in adding him to their ranks: Montesa, Gas Gas and Sherco.

The strongest sounding option is Montesa. In recent years, Montesa has always had a rider with a more junior profile in its ranks, as was the case with Alfredo Gómez, Dani Gibert, Laia Sanz or currently Francesc Moret. Given that Bou has renewed his contract with Montesa for two seasons this season, he has most likely pushed Honda to further evolve a Cota 4RT that has hardly changed since 2009. This could be a very interesting point for Pol. In addition, his relationship with Toni Bou is extraordinary and surely having the advice and infrastructure of the most cutting-edge Trial team are an important weight in the final decision.

The other options are Gas, Gas and Sherco. Valuing that the Pol’s sporting career has always been linked to Gas Gas and the growing commitment of the people of Girona to support great talents – see the case of Jorge Casales – this could be the Second Most Important Option for Pol’s plans.

Probably throughout this month we will be able to confirm what the future of Pol Tarrés will be. As always, we at Trialworld wish him all the luck in the world and a successful future.
