It will be during the popular Montesada, on October 12th, when the new Montesa Cota 4RT 2012 will make its first public appearance. Available now at the brand’s official dealers, the new Cota will benefit from a special launch promotion, seeing reduced its price by €750 in the case of the standard version (€7,299) and €730 in the case of the Repsol version (€7,899), promotion valid only during this month of October.
The new Cota – which continues to be produced exclusively at Montesa Honda’s facilities in Santa Perpetua de Mogoda, Barcelona has seen its weight reduced by 300 grams (220 grams less on the rear wheel and 80 grams less on the front), which means greater agility by reducing the suspended weight in both trains. The new spokes and hubs also contribute to the weight reduction of the set.
The technical improvements introduced in the starting system make it easier to start the bike in any circumstance. On the other hand, the new stickers bring a more racing and modern graphic to the aesthetics of the new Cota 4RT.
As far as the engine is concerned, the Montesa Cota 4RT continues to rely on 4-stroke technology powered by PGM-FI electronic fuel injection; a technology with great success in the world of competition, as evidenced by the recent world titles won by the riders of the Repsol Montesa Honda Trial Team: Toni Bou, Laia Sanz and Alfredo Gómez (in the Junior category).
