The reigning 2020 Spanish Champion, Adam Raga, assesses the start of the 2021 season in the Spanish Trial Championship and gets wet about the new regulations.
In this first race, held in Arteixo (A Coruña), Raga was third after a three-way tie with Busto and Gelabert. All this is caused by a new rule that grants bonuses to drivers who complete the race in the shortest time.
Adam Raga: "I was really looking forward to the start of the CET and measure myself against my rivals to understand where we are at each one. I feel fully competitive and the riding in the race has been very good, as well as the performance of the bike and the team. Regarding the news, I only ask for respect for the sport of trial; What we have seen today is not the spectacle that the organizer and spectators deserve. It has been a great race in the organizational field, tarnished by a rule that is not understood and, as seen in the classifications, greatly distorts the race. If this rule continues, we will evaluate whether to continue in the Spanish Trial Championship"
