Albert Cabestany clarifies his future options

Albert Cabestany
is in the sights of all trial enthusiasts and riders. A consecrated rider with more than 20 seasons in the World Championship and a great candidate for victory in every race, but with a professional situation that, due to an accumulation of circumstances, are making Cabestany rethink new options for his professional future. A priori, barring any surprises, he will be linked to trial, although the rider from Tarragona has not specified whether it will be as a rider or with some other formula.
Sherco Trial 2018 Cabestany
Albert has been linked to Sherco for more than a decade, but it’s not clear that, if he continues as a rider, he will be his bike for 2018. One of the brands that also sounds like a rumor is Beta, which after the departure of Jorge Casales, has been left without top riders. It would be a nice romance, as Cabestany was World Indoor Champion in 2002 at the controls of a Beta Rev3.

MESSAGE FROM ALBERT CABESTANY

The reason for this message is to clarify a little the current situation about my future. I’ve seen a lot of news stories that talk about my retirement as a fait accompli. My last post was a farewell to the team with which I have been playing my last years of competition both nationally and in the World Cup. My human team work for the day to day or for the races. Paxau, as we all know, is retiring. Lluis leaves his role as a backpacker, and David embarks on a new adventure withn SRS motorcycles. It’s not even a farewell to Sherco.
I still have meetings pending with the head of the French brand, Marc Teissier. It is true, however, that there are other options; some to continue competing, some to continue in the world of trial but not as a rider. Now it’s time to reflect, study and clarify all the alternatives, and make a decision. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves.
Don’t worry, once I make the decision that best creates for my future, I will let you know! In the meantime, I’m going to continue training and enjoying the pending commitments between now and the end of the year at the controls of my Sherco ST300.
A hug, and lots of gas!!
