The General Assembly was held in Madrid with the election of the president of the Royal Spanish Motorcycling Federation. After a long electoral process, which lasted longer than expected, the General Assembly and the election of the president of the RFME were held today in the capital of Spain. Three candidates were running in that election. The head of the Motorcycling Federation of the Valencian Community, Mr. José Luis Berenguer , the former president of the Catalan Motorcycling Federation, Mr. Àngel Viladoms and a man linked for many years to motorcycling and, above all, to Trial, Mr. Manuel Casado.
After reaching an agreement, Viladoms and Berenguer have joined forces to present a single candidacy. With an electoral programme in which the unity of all the Autonomous Federations prevails and having as main objective is to take care of the base of this sport and bring it closer to all levels, Mr. Àngel Viladoms has been elected as the new president of the Royal Spanish Motorcycling Federation.
Also the election of the Executive Committee has been held It is made up of these four estates: Autonomous Federations, Official Positions, Clubs and Athletes. In Federations, the Motorcycling Federation of the Valencian Community, the Riojan Motorcycling Federation, the Extremadura Motorcycling Federation and the Castilian-La Mancha Motorcycling Federation have been elected.
As far as Clubs are concerned, these four are: A.D. Aragón Sport, Moto Automóbil Club Reus, Motoclub Papaya and Motoclub Piloto Verde. Mr. Sebastiá Crespí Cañellas was in Official Positions and Mr. Josep Alonso was in Sportsmen’s Positions Pages, Mr. José Luis Ferreres Beltrán and Mr. Alberto J. Vaello Garañana.
From now on, a new stage begins in the Royal Spanish Motorcycling Federation. One of the most important sports in this country will continue to reap great success. There is no shortage of riders, clubs, lovers of this world of two wheels and facilities of the highest level.
