Scorpa announces the presentation of Berta Abellán as the brand’s official rider for 2022. In this way, the Spanish rider, third in the TrialGP Women’s World Championship, gets out of her Vertigo Nitro and takes on the challenge of fighting for the women’s world title at the controls of a 2022 Scorpa SC 300 Factory.
Berta Abellán with Scorpa
Today, January 1st, the signing of Berta Abellán by Scorpa has been made official, since for contractual reasons she could not communicate at the same time as the alliances with Jorge Casales and Adrià Mercader.
This rebranding is decisive for Berta, as her good results in 2021 lay the foundations for the goal in 2022, which is none other than to aspire to the title. Scorpa, for its part, is putting all the meat on the grill to form a competitive team in the main categories, making it clear that the brand is strongly committed both in the field of competition and at a technical level with its new Scorpa Factory 2022.
Berta will have a new personal team in 2022, led by Alba Villegas as backpacker and assistant.
Berta Abellán: "I'm very happy to announce my new colors for next year. I'm super grateful to Albert Casanovas for trusting me, so I hope to make up for it from the top of the podium. I'm really looking forward to starting the competitions with my backpacker Alba Villegas, who will continue with me this season, we have a very good feeling so I hope this will be a great year. The bike is great, it has a lot of things that I like, little by little I'm adapting to it because it's very different from the Vertigo. Special thanks to all the sponsors who trust me and to all the team I have behind me and are always helping me, such as Marta Vilagrasa, Sergio Nuñez, María Feliu, and of course my family, who are always there by my side. The most important thing is that I'm really excited and eager, so I'm going to give it my all."
This is the Scorpa Factory 2022
In this Scorpa 2022 range, work has been done on both the chassis and the mechanics. Firstly, the gearbox has been modified to include a longer second gear that allows drivers to tackle large obstacles with the necessary torque without reducing the speed required to overtake them.
On the other hand, it has been decided to reduce the compression of the engine for greater progression and flexibility. A recommendation proposed by the factory riders.
At the level of suspensions, Scorpa maintains its commitment to a Tech and Reiger set, a formula for success. As for the shock absorber, we have worked with the R+D team, developing new settings for the Reiger 2V shock absorber with the aim of obtaining a better response capacity when the bike goes through large obstacles.
