Berta Abellán will not continue with Vertigo in 2022

Vertigo and Berta Abellán will not continue their sporting collaboration in the 2022 season, breaking an agreed tandem that has been working together since 2018. A time in which Berta has won two titles as runner-up in the trial world championship and one title as absolute women’s champion of Spain.

Vertigo announces that it will continue to bet on women’s trial and in the coming days will announce its sporting plans for next season.

In an official statement, Vertigo announced the following:

“Vertigo would like to express its gratitude to Berta Abellán for her commitment, exceptional work and magnificent results during the four seasons she has been part of the team. Looking ahead to 2022, both parties are going their separate ways and the whole team wishes him every success in his new sporting stage.

Since joining the 2018 season, Abellán has experienced a fantastic evolution that has led her to establish herself as one of the most important riders in the world, always finishing in the top 3 of the TrialGP Women World Championship, with two runners-up and two third positions, 2 victories in the Trial of Nations and an absolute European Champion title. At the national level, his great dominance has resulted in the achievement of three absolute Spanish Championships. Vertigo and Berta Abellán celebrated their last great success just a week ago at the Palau Sant Jordi, where the Catalan finished second in the first women’s indoor trial in history with the new Nitro 2022.

Vertigo will continue to bet on women’s trial, and in this sense the brand expects to announce in the coming days news regarding the preparation of its team for the 2022 season.”

Berta Abellán - Vertigo

BERTA ABELLÁN: "Sometimes life, the situation and the moment presents us with changes. After doubts and uncertainty, today I close a four-year stage with Vertigo. The time has come to take on new challenges. I feel grateful, grateful for the opportunity they have given me over the years. I am especially grateful to Manel Jané for the trust he has placed in me. In 2018 he welcomed me with open arms and, since then, he and his great company have bet @vertigomotors_es on my qualities, on my effort and above all, they have helped me grow professionally. I'm sure I've gotten to where I am, in large part, thanks to them. Every athlete at a point needs new projects and resources, so today I close four years full of effort and gratitude with Vertigo, although this does not end here."
