Gabriel Marcelli wins the 3 Days of Santigosa

Gabriel Marcelli, absolute champion of the 47th edition of the ‘3 Dies Trial Santigosa’

A splendid sunny day accompanied us during the last day of the 47th edition of the ‘3 Dies Trial Santigosa’. The race has continued to take place without any notable incident and, from all areas, the good overall assessment that is made stands out: zones, marking and also the level.
Francesc Moret Santiposa 2018
The weather has been very benevolent with the Santigosa 2018 and the race has taken place on days of stable weather, generally sunny, windy at some times of the day and with cold temperatures especially early in the morning.
During the course of the race, a large audience frequented the areas of these three days of the circuit and finished enjoying this last day of trial with the exhibition that the Montesa riders – Honda, Fujinami and Marcelli made at around six in the evening, in the indoor area.
Jorge Casales Santiposa 2018
This year, the participation of Dougie Lampkin, Jorge Casales, Francesc Moret, Oriol Noguera and Gabriel Marcelli has been highlighted, as well as the presence of the elite riders: Takahisa Fujinami, Albert Cabestany, Jeroni Fajardo, Miquel Gelabert, Jaime Bustos and Marc Riba.
In the women’s category, it was a luxury to have the participation of Laia Sanz, Sandra Gómez, Berta Abellán (who missed Saturday due to injury), Maria Giró and the German Theresa Bäuml.
Oriol Noguera Santiposa 2018
We have also had an exceptionally high participation of international pilots. One of the most international of the 3DTS. Pilots from England, Norway, Israel, Switzerland, Sweden, Scotland, Germany and France have participated. Once again, the ‘3 Dies Trial Santigosa’ is one of the world’s benchmark events.
As for the competition, Gabriel Marcelli is the absolute champion of this 47th edition of the 3DTS.
The podium has been very competitive, with today being the decisive day to see the outcome. Gabriel Marcelli and Jorge Casales were both tied just one foot behind the leader of the first two days, Francesc Moret. A head-to-head duel that finally gives the podium to Marcelli as first classified, Casales in second place and Oriol Noguera who will occupy the third position, losing the leadership of the first two days in the course of this day.
Dougie Lampkin Santiposa 2018
Francesc Moret and Dougie Lampkin are finally the riders who will take fourth and fifth place in the overall standings.
The VII Ricard Pinet Trophy goes to the Czech David Fabián, youngest and best classified rider and the Mestressa de Santigosa trophy goes to Francesc Moret. In the women’s category, Laia Sanz won first place, Sandra Gómez second place and Maria Giró completed the podium in third place.
This edition of the 3DTS has been a success for all of us, highlighting the total implementation of e-control in a satisfactory way. This is a pioneering technological innovation in this area, which allows scores to be incorporated through an app and a mobile phone. The device has sensors that read the identification of the drivers at the entrance to the zone, the control captures the score through the mobile device and records the scoring data that can be automatically downloaded to the race office. R + D + I developed and driven entirely by the Moto Club Abadesses.
