Jesús Plaza, member of the FIM trial commission, dies

The day has dawned with news that has left us frozen. Jesús Plaza, active rider, member of the FIM (International Motorcycling Federation) Trial Commission and the RFME (Royal Spanish Motorcycling Federation) Trial Commission, has died at the age of 52 after suffering a heart attack.

Jesús was a lover of off-road specialties, especially Enduro that he practiced assiduously both in regional races, as well as in the Spanish Championship and in the ISDE. So much so that in the last edition of the International Six Days of Enduro he was part of the RFME team receiving assistance from the national Federation. It was also the case of Trial, both in classic and current formats. He was part of the staff of both the FIM and the Spanish Federation.

Just a few days ago he visited the Trialworld Store and we talked about the future of trial, the current situation and the most interesting points that will define the 2023 regulations.

Jesus was a great person above all else. He leaves behind a wife and two children. With Coco, his son, he had planned to take up trial more often and get closer to the courses at Trialworld School.

From Trialworld we want to send a big hug to friends and family. There is a big void left in our sport. Thank you for all you have contributed, Jesus. Rest in peace.

We remember this interesting interview we shared with Jesús Plaza in 2021 on the occasion of the changes in the regulations of the CET.
