The journalist Joaquim Maria Puyal is the new Català de l’Any. The announcer has obtained more votes than the other two finalists of the 12th edition of the award, the cardiologist Josep Brugada and the trial rider Laia Sanz. The president, Artur Mas, and the president of Grupo Zeta, Antonio Asensio Mosbah, presented the award to the broadcaster.
In collecting the award, Puyal praised the work of the other finalists, the work of Brugada, and the courage of Sanz.
“Català de l’Any is the one who fights against cancer, who fights for an idea, who cares for the sick,”
he said.
Laia Sanz’s role in a particularly sweet year for the Gas Gas pilot was fantastic. In addition to her triumph in the 2012 Dakar, she has achieved a fantastic feat in the Women’s Enduro World Championship and, of course, in Trial. All this, in the context of a new brand, which is an added effort for a born fighter.
