Manuel Soler has died at the age of 63 at his home, from causes that are still unknown.
Born in 1957 into a large family with a tradition in the world of motorcycles, such as the Bult family. This, together with his talent, favored the precocity with which he stood out in the national sports arena, something that earned him his affectionate nickname of “El Monstruito”.
This sporting consolidation came when he was only 17 years old when he won the title of Spanish Champion. Perhaps the milestone for which Manuel is best remembered is the great achievement of being the first Spanish rider to achieve a victory in the Trial World Championship, winning the 1979 Finnish GP.
In 1980 with the Bultaco crisis, Manuel signed for Montesa, where he would play for two seasons, completing his sporting career with Merlin in 1983, at which time he announced his retirement as a professional trial rider.
During these decades he has been an assiduous fan of the world of trial, so we have been able to see him in long races and other performances. Manuel has never stopped being linked to trial, his great passion.
January 20, 2021 leaves us with only 63 years old and great memories. From here we send his friends and family a big hug.
