Martin Lampkin (28.12.50 – 02.04.16) was born into a family involved in motorcycling. His two brothers, Arthur and Alan, were factory BSA pilots. Martin’s talent did not go unnoticed by the great Paco Bultó, with whom he teamed up in the early 70s and with whom he would win the first Trial World Championship title in 1975.
Martin also stood out in the mythical 6 Days of Scotland, which he won in 1976, 1977 and 1978, triumphs to which must be added those of champion of the British national in 1973, 1978 and 1980.
In the early 90s he returned to the paddock to promote the sporting career of his son Dougie, who has become one of the most successful drivers of all time with a total of 12 titles to his credit.
