Montesa 4RT electric

4rtelectrica_400A few months ago we saw Adam Raga driving an electric Gas Gas in “the valley of silence”, located in an incomparable setting such as El Bierzo (León). Despite the fact that it was a one-off event, it made us all wonder what a future would be like in our specialty with electric motorcycles.

Would environmental restrictions end? Would there be more demand? Would the Trial be maintained as we know it today or will the zones vary?

While we are still reflecting, the German magazine TRIALSPORT presented the official bike of the 7-time Swiss champion, manufactured by himself and homologated for the 2011 Swiss Trial Championship.

It is a Montesa Cota 4RT transformed with an electric motor. The magazine weighs only 52 kilos. The left lever abandons its clutch function to operate the rear brake. Regarding technical data and autonomy, a capacity to travel 80 kilometers is announced, a battery capable of charging in just one hour and yielding a power of 52V / 40 Ah / 400.

This kit can be purchased. The contact email is e-moto@bluewin.ch and the bike is offered at a price of CHF 10,900 (more than 9,000 euros).
