However, since the birth of the Montesa Cota 4RT there has been a small exception in the market.
Users of this valve bike began to look for components in the auxiliary industry to optimize the performance of their engine (exhaust, increased displacement, programmable ECU) and shave grams off its 76.5 kilos of standard weight.
This preparation has been carried out on a Montesa Cota 4RT 250 model 08 > 13 and aspects that have already been worked on on a smaller scale in the new Montesa 4RT 2014 have been addressed: the increase in displacement -in this case up to 300cc- and the reduction of engine braking.

ISLAND TRIAL TEAM PROJECT
In Sardinia, the team presented a thoroughly prepared Cota 4RT with parts manufactured and assembled in Italy.

* Engine with Corsa Lunga preparation, with 300cc and elimination of engine braking.
* Reprogramming injection maps.
* Air filter and fuel tank alternate location. The tank is made of carbon and gains in fuel capacity up to 2.4 litres. I save 500 grams.
* New aluminium wheels with titatio spokes. Savings of 1,700 grams.
* Special lightened bushings.
* FOX rear shock. It weighs 530 grams (compared to 1,700 grams for the original).
* Replacement of all chassis and engine bolts with new ones made of titanium. Savings of 2,000 grams.
* Termignoni carbon fiber muffler and titanium exhaust manifold.
* Carbon fiber components.
* Special decoration
Thefinal weight of the bike is 67.6 kilos, compared to 76.7 as standard.
