The growing trend of the Cafe Racer and the Scrambler does not attend to the limits of imagination. When Kengo Kimura from Heiwa received a request from a customer to prepare a Montesa Cota 4RT, with a clear sporty focus and a line far removed from the Scrambler concept, he had to put his creativity to the test. In the end, after a long insistence, he accepted the job and here is the result.
Actually, the basis of a
Montesa Cota 4RT
meets the demands in terms of mechanical reliability. However, being a new bike, and not a classic one, which is the most common base, it seemed that the work could be too expensive and laborious.
When the bodywork was completely dismantled it became clear that there was a lot of hard work to be done in building a subframe at the rear to house the leather seat chosen by the owner. There was also a lot of work to modify the fuel tank, whose fuel pump in the production model goes inside and involved quite a few complications. This work was followed by the front end, with a purely Scrambler headlight, and both fenders.
As you can see in the photos, much of the character is also due to the exhaust system, with a handcrafted chrome muffler that takes advantage of the original manifold.
After this, a good dose of paint with black and white colors as a base to provide elegance and a unique personality. The set of turn signals and taillight contribute to this greatly.
In short, a fantastic work of craftsmanship that gives us a hitherto unpublished vision of the reigning Trial World Champion with
