Mounting the Temperature Sensor on Trial Bikes

This time we bring you to
Trialworld Garage
an unusual, but very useful, accessory for your trial bikes. It is a temperature
sensor for motorcycles
that will help you know if the engine temperature is optimal at all times, since in case of heating up, a red LED will go out to warn that there is an abnormal operation in the engine.

Trial bikes

need perfect cooling to provide their maximum performance, since in their natural habitat, the zones, the engine temperature is high. In addition, the water capacity of the radiator is relatively small. This is a double reason to be more attentive to the mechanics and avoid a possible seizure.
This sensor does a three-second reset at start-up, turning on both lights (red and green). Then, with the standard operation of the bike, the rider remains green.

ENGINE TEMPERATURE SENSOR ASSEMBLY

Product:
Temperature sensor with alarm light for motorbikes
– Available at
Trialworld Store

Tool: set of fixed wrenches and Allen wrenches, spark plug wrench, as well as wire and duct tape.
Assembly time: 20 minutes.
Difficulty: 4 out of 10.

ASSEMBLY PROCESS

For the assembly operation, it is necessary to disassemble the fuel tank to access the spark plug. Once this step is done, place the device on the handlebar, preferably on the right side so as not to load the left side with components.
Once the sensor is attached, we reroute the wiring to the inside of the engine, through the side of the steering tube or above, as it seems best depending on the model of motorcycle.
The spark plug is removed and the thermal sensor is placed underneath. The spark plug is then reattached.
Finally, we have two wires: yellow and white. The target is placed at a nearby mass. The yellow one must be spliced to the positive cable that comes out of the dimmer, in order to supply current to the device.
