Just as Sherco did a few weeks ago, Scorpa, its sister brand, presents its Factory Trial range for 2022. It is the top-of-the-range model and is available from this June in displacements of 125, 250 and 300cc, all with two-stroke mechanics.
SCORPA AND SHERCO, TWO INCREASINGLY PARALLEL PATHS
Scorpa and Sherco are owned by Marc Teissier. The French businessman, founder of Sherco, acquired Scorpa in 2009 following the order to liquidate the brand by the Commercial Court of Nîmes. From there, a new era began with Sherco engines, which was consolidated in 2015 with the launch of the Twenty.
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN SCORPA AND SHERCO
As of today, the models of both brands are practically identical. The big difference is the chassis. In the case of Scorpa the geometries vary at the level of the engine tie rods, allowing the radiator to be lowered from the front, while in the Sherco this same operation must be done from the inside.
The geometries of the rear are also different, allowing an air filter box with greater volume and, consequently, better lung and performance for the engine.
new SCORPA SC factory 2022 trial
In this Scorpa 2022 range, work has been done on both the chassis and the mechanics. Firstly, the gearbox has been modified to include a longer second gear that allows drivers to tackle large obstacles with the necessary torque without reducing the speed required to overtake them.
On the other hand, it has been decided to reduce the compression of the engine for greater progression and flexibility. A recommendation proposed by the factory riders.
At the level of suspensions, Scorpa maintains its commitment to a Tech and Reiger set, a formula for success. As for the shock absorber, we have worked with the R+D team, developing new settings for the Reiger 2V shock absorber with the aim of obtaining a better response capacity when the bike goes through large obstacles.
