Seville X-Trial suspended

With less than two weeks to go until the celebration of the X-Trial of Seville, the sixth round of the X-Trial World Championship 2018, the Municipal Sports Institute of Seville has announced the cancellation of the race.

Although the promoter, 2Play, has not yet officially communicated it, it seems that there is no turning back from this decision. The reasons for this decision are also not explained, but it coincides with the recovery from injuries of the top two finishers, Toni Bou and Adam Raga.

Toni Bou suffered a serious accident at the X-Trial at Le Mans last Saturday in a non-scoring race for the X-Trial World Championship, fracturing three vertebrae and announcing a recovery period of at least three weeks, a very tight time to get to participate in this race.

Days earlier,
Adam Raga underwent
surgery to reconstruct a tendon in his left elbow, which he was suffering from due to a partial rupture.
We do not know if all these events are related to each other, but it is conceivable that a race of this size without the assistance of the main favorites would affect the influx of public and profitability of the event.
