The Spanish Motorcycling Federation has launched a provisional calendar for the 2017 season of the Spanish Trial Championship, although they do not yet have the approval of the Higher Sports Council or the verification of the organizer and regional federation.
As we have already announced, there are great tensions between the current acting president of the management committee, Angel Viladoms, and Manuel Casado, a presidential candidate who has already won in the first ballot with 297 votes compared to Viladoms’ 71. The meeting of the Management Committee was scheduled for 17 December and, after the complaint to the CAS and the CSD, the approval of the calendars and budgets was withdrawn from the agenda.
Viladoms, acting president with only 18 representatives against 80 in the elected Assembly, and with 12 of the 18 territorial federations against him, sent an agenda to the Management Commission in which he arrogated to himself full powers and the ability to approve the 2017 calendars, the 2016 accounts, the 2017 budgets and even set a salary of 84,000 euros.
After the complaint of members of the Management before the Higher Council of Sports and the Administrative Court of Sport, Viladoms changed the agenda and withdrew the illegal points from the call. However, during the Gestora, it put to a vote the items that it had previously withdrawn from the agenda. He alleged that it had been a “material error” on the part of the Secretary and that he had had a two-hour conversation with the Higher Sports Council, which had recommended that he approve it in this way.
At the moment, the resolution of the CAS and the CSD itself is still awaited, given the requirements that Viladoms convene the Sovereign Assembly to make decisions that cannot be taken otherwise according to articles 46 and 64 of the statutes of the RFME.
