Success of HEBO PROAM, the first competition between amateurs and professionals

Last Saturday we enjoyed first-hand the first HEBO PRO AM, a playful competition format where you compete in pairs, with one of the members being a professional pilot and the other an amateur.

This unprecedented experience was very well received by all the riders and brands, regardless of the manufacturer of their equipment. This fostered the creation of an atmosphere of playfulness, camaraderie and enjoyment.

The riders were of the level of Toni Bou, Gabriel Marcelli, Jaime Busto, Jorge Casales, Aniol Gelabert, Arnau Farré, Bernie Schreiber, and more young talents.

AN UNPRECEDENTED FORMAT

Once the teams were distributed and the different levels of difficulty were assigned for the amateurs, we began the adventure with Jorge Casales, with whom we had to team up on this occasion.

Jorge, who this year is an official Scorpa pilot, accompanied us in the prospection of the areas and carried out backpacking tasks for us. An excellent opportunity to empathize with Jorge and see him in action in a more casual context.

One of the most interesting points was to see how he visualized the areas that he later had to do, as well as other tips on the riding position and technique. It is amazing how safe these pilots are when they pass through the areas, also thinking about possible alternatives or “plan B” in case the main failure fails.

In any case, a frankly interesting experience, with a very meticulous logistical set-up by the entire HEBO team.

We are already looking forward to the 2023 edition!
