Tarres fulfills another dream

tarres_ceti_400At  only 18 years old, turned exactly today, the nephew of the mythical icon of Spanish trial aims high to try to emulate his uncle and this year he will have a fixed place on his own merits in the Spanish Indoor Trial Championship

1. What is your assessment of your participation in the CETI Junior Challenge last year?

I was very good. It was my first year and I think I defended myself pretty well. In addition, in the end I got fifth place in the general classification of the CETI, which is phenomenal.

2. Being the best Junior has allowed you to be in the premier class this year, how does that feel to you?

It’s a dream come true. Since I was a child I have wanted to race with Toni Bou, Cabestany, Raga, Fajardo… And the day has finally come when I will be able to compete with them.

3. You know the riders who will be with you at CETI, but who is the scariest of you?

Without a doubt, Toni Bou. We’re great friends, but it’s clear that he’s in another orbit. No one can beat him and his level is second to none. It’s impossible to beat him.

4. What do you think you can bring to the Championship?

I’m very young. Contributing, nothing. They [el resto de pilotos] have everything and they are great. What I can do is learn from them and try to improve so that one day I can get on the podium.

5. What is the weight of being Jordi Tarrès’ nephew in this sport?

I used to be known for being Jordi Tarrès’ nephew, but now I’m increasingly known for being Pol Tarrès. Sometimes people ask me about it, or they want to take pictures in the paddock with me; But that’s about it.

6. Today you turn 18 and that gives you the gift of being able to move up a category, doesn’t it?

I’m very happy and very excited to be in the premier class. And, since I’m turning 18 just in time, I already have a big bike license and there’s no problem.

7. You are going to make your debut in Zaragoza, which is also the city where last year you got the first step from CETI Junior to CETI. Can we say it’s a special date?

Yes. Last year I was good at it. I really enjoyed it and had a great time. Also, I really liked the race, and I guess this year will be similar.

8. What are your goals in this new adventure at CETI?

Not to go lower than fifth place and try to be fourth or sneak on the podium in one of the races.
