The FIM X-Trial World Championship will land on April 10 at the Palau Sant Jordi. The best riders in the world, led by the current trial world champion and current leader of the World Championship, Toni Bou, will fight the fourth round of the six that make up the calendar of the Indoor World Championship.
The
Women’s Trophy
, with the champion, Emma Bristow, and the Spaniard Berta Abellán as the main figures, will repeat at the Palau Sant Jordi after its applauded debut last year. The 45th edition of the world’s oldest indoor trial was presented today in Barcelona at an event chaired by the Councillor for Sports of Barcelona, David Escudé; the general manager of RPM SPORTS, Cristian Llorens and Jordi Castells, director of the event.
The best drivers in the world, in Barcelona
The new regulations of the X-Trial World Championship promote the maximum internationality of the championship, although this is to the detriment of Spanish riders. Toni Bou and Adam Raga are two of the five permanent riders, thanks to their status as world champion and runner-up respectively in 2021. Matteo Grattarola, France’s Benoît Bincaz and Britain’s Toby Martyn complete the list of those guaranteed to participate in all races. Also at the Palau Sant Jordi will be Jaime Busto with his Vertigo, and the Galician Gabriel Marcelli. The list of eight drivers is completed by the Norwegian Sondre Haga.
The route of the X Trial of Barcelona will consist of 6 zones: two made with metal modules, three areas with concrete modules and one area made with natural elements.
The rematch between Emma Bristow and Berta Abellán
The British seven-time TrialGP Women World Champion and the Spaniard from Terrassa were the best in the first edition of the Women’s Trophy Barcelona. That race was decided by only one point in Bristow’s favor and both have prepared thoroughly for this new duel. They will be accompanied by Sandra Gómez from Madrid, Naomi Monnier from France and Andrea Sofia Rabino, a debutant in the event, from Italy.
The five drivers will face four sections , two with natural materials and two with concrete, to which will be added a fifth of greater difficulty that will be covered only by the two best classified.
