The national starts with a narrow victory for Toni Bou in Ibiza

Bou Outdoor NAC13Ibiza This morning the race that opened the Spanish Trial Championship was held on the Balearic island of Ibiza. The organising MC, MC Formentera and Eivissa, and the Balearic Motorcycling Federation, had prepared 12 areas with very good visibility for the public. From 1 to 10 they have been located on the Camino Cantera Den Canyes, 11 in Vara de Rey and 12 at the Fairgrounds. The last two have been indoors, raising the expectations of the fans.

The rains that have fallen in the last week made the organization decide to modify some areas on Friday, simplifying them a little, but without detracting from the spectacularity of any of them.

Due to the great work of both the MC and the FBM, which He has even chartered coaches to transport the public, which have been packed with people. The attendees have been able to enjoy first-hand the fabulous technique of these riders since what they do with the motorcycles, few are able to achieve.

Leading the large group of riders who competed in Ibiza was the multi-champion Toni Bou, who once again surpassed his teammates. Many of the eyes of the fans were on him but also on men like Albert Cabestany, Jeroni Fajardo or Adam Raga.

The categories convened were TR1, TR2, TR3, TR4, Junior and Cadet. The defending champion did not score any penalties in the first round and the three points he took home were in the second and in zones 6, 7 and 12. Very close to him today was Adam Raga, who finished second in this category Absolute. The Gas Gas rider failed on the first lap in zones 2 and 6 and in the second in zones 7 and 12.

Raga NAC 13 Third, on this occasion, was Albert Cabestany , who with 17 points, was far behind both Toni and Adam. The Sherco rider did two 5s (zones 7 and 12 of the 1st lap) which was a drag for the second.

In TR2 Carles Traviesa with 19 points, Jaime Busto with 33 and Marcos Méndez with 39 have climbed to the podiums of Ibiza in this category, in TR3 Marc Horrach (39) and Adrián Artidiello (57), in TR4 Josep Seguí (42), Jesús Martín (45) and Roberto Bautista (59), in Cadet Gabriel Giro (57), Marc Miquel (65) and Sergi Farrés (70) and Junior Arnau Farré (31), Nacho Fernández – Sancho (48) and Marc Riba (70).

Toni Bou: We’ve started the championship well, so I’m satisfied. With the drier terrain, the sections were easier but at the same time they penalised more for mistakes, as the points lost were difficult to recover. Accustomed as we are today to indoors, the start of the outdoor season requires not only the adaptation to a completely different type of areas but also to their execution times. It’s a different way of working and we’ve done it well.”

Adam Raga: “I’m very happy to have got this result because I think we were aiming for the win every time. It was a shame we didn’t make it in the end. Toni (Bou) had a slip in which he thought he would give up a point but in the end he passed the area. We’ve been close! The important thing is that the team has worked very well, the bike has worked perfectly and we are on a very good track.”

Jorge Casales: “I didn’t expect to be so far ahead, because both Borrelles and Moret were very strong before starting. Everything worked perfectly and only a couple of mistakes took me away from Fajardo at the end. I think it’s a good start and even though the top four are still far away, I think later on I can be fighting with them.”

The second of the five rounds of the Spanish Trial Championship will take place on April 7 in the town of Arnedillo in La Rioja.
