The Solidarity Trial with 605 registered contributes to the collection of €32,000 against cancer

solidario_cat2012The Circuit de Catalunya today experienced a great solidarity day on the occasion of La Marató de TV3, dedicated this year to the fight against cancer. A total of 32,000 euros have been raised, thanks to the activities that have been carried out at the Circuit such as the “Solidarity Tour”, the 10kmRACC and the 1st Solidarity Trial.

The day breathed a multitudinous and popular atmosphere. A total of 550 vehicles have made their “Solidarity Lap”, an activity for which there were no free runs left at the beginning of the day. A wide variety of vehicles have joined the initiative organized by the Circuit for the fifth consecutive year, highlighting the fact that trial bikes have also carried out a “Solidarity Tour”, being the first time that motorcycles of this specialty roll around the Catalan track.

The 10kmRACC race has filled the Circuit de Catalunya since early in the morning, with the participation of more than 4,000 runners who have competed in races of 10 km, 5 km and children’s modalities. This was the second edition of the athletic race organised by the RACC at the Circuit de Catalunya, which this year has joined the events of La Marató de TV3 at the Circuit.

Another of the activities held on the occasion of La Marató de TV3 in the facilities has been the 1st Solidarity Trial, organized by MOTOCAT with the collaboration of the Catalan Motorcycling Federation and the Circuit de Catalunya. For the first time, the public areas of the Circuit have been the scene of a trial event, with six zones on three levels. A total of 605 registered bikes have managed to make the 1st Solidarity Trial have registered the record of participants ever reached in a trial event in the world. At noon there was also an exhibition in indoor trial areas in the paddock, by riders such as Adam Raga, Jeroni Fajardo, Takahisa Fujinami, Albert Cabestany, Pol Tarrés, Emma Bristow, Francesc Moret and Jorge Casales, among others. Toni Bou and Laia Sanz have also collaborated in the 1st Solidarity Trial.

In addition to all the activities held today at the Circuit de Catalunya, attendees had the opportunity to visit the facilities, including race direction, the briefing room, the podium, the press room, etc.
