More than 20 riders gathered in the first round The 2012 National Mototrial Season opened this weekend at the Solar del Hatillo Trialodrome, with more than 20 riders participating in the TR1 (International Experts), TR2 (National Experts), TR3 (Intermediate) and Children’s categories.
The Rivas brothers, Hernando and José Ignacio, who head the list of the best TR1 drivers, gave no room for doubt and won first and second place respectively. It should be remembered that Hernando Rivas comes from obtaining second place in category A in the “Latin American Championship”, held in Honduras last December.
In TR2, Alejandro Avendaño took first place accumulating his first 20 points of the championship, followed closely by David Avendaño, in second position, with 17 points. Third place went to Gustavo Badillo, representative of the Anzoátegui riders, just one point behind Alessandro Torres, who was in fourth place.
It is noteworthy that at just 10 years of age, David Avendaño reveals himself as the young promise of the Venezuelan Trial, already in Honduras 2011 he obtained fourth place in category B, measuring himself against pilots of all ages and backgrounds, while in subcategory B Junior he obtained first place, competing with pilots under 21 years of age.
In TR3, Jordi Colominas, took first place and promises to return for the title of the category that he already obtained in the 2007 and 2008 seasons. For his part, debutant Juan Carlos Eseverri took second place, while Leonardo Cárdenas took third.
A surprise was the children’s category, where the girls outnumbered the participation of the boys and competed for the honor roll. Thus, Jonathan Pestana won first place, followed by Cristina Castro in second and Eloy Rodríguez in third.
The second round of the National Trial Championship will take place on March 31 in the city of Valencia.
