Toni Bou
was gutted to race last Sunday in the
French Trial Grand Prix in Isola 2000
, where after Saturday’s victory, he began to feel significant discomfort in his back that caused ramps in his right arm.
After finishing third on Sunday, he said: “We were unhappy for most of the day and it was quite hard”. In a very short championship of only four Grands Prix, three of which are held consecutively in a double scoring race, these setbacks weigh even more, as there is no room for recovery.
Now everything is ready for the Spanish Grand Prix and Toni Bou is working against the clock to be in a position to defend a lead with just one point margin over Jaime Busto and two over Adam Raga.
According to Toni Bou:
In France I suffered a lot from my forearm and I had a very bad time. These days we are trying to recover physically so that we can be in the best possible condition in Pobladura, although according to the physio, the pain comes from an old back injury. The fact that the championship has three races in a row, almost without being able to recover between one and the other, does not help much to get it to 100%.
