BUSTO CONSOLIDATES HIS GREAT SEASON
The third step of the podium was occupied by Jaime Busto (Vertigo) defeating Matteo Grattarola (Beta) in the final for third place to add the seventh step of his sporting career and returning to a Top 3 that he had not occupied since the X-Trial of the Reunion in November 2019. The Italian, who was the best in Round 1, achieved, with his fourth place, the best result of his indoor sporting career in the return to a discipline in which he had not participated since December 2017.
ELIMINATED IN ROUND 2
Jeroni Fajardo (Sherco) and Miquel Gelabert (Gas Gas) were the riders eliminated in Round 2 and the latter did so with a spectacular crash in the second section that prevented him from continuing despite the fact that, fortunately, he was not seriously injured.
On the other hand, Jorge Casales (Gas Gas), Gabriel Marcelli (Montesa) and Toby Martyn (TRRS) were out of the race after occupying the last three places in Round 1.
"Toni Bou adds his 68th victory in the indoor world championships".
DECLARATIONS
toni bou (P1)"This victory was great because of the way and the place in which I achieved it, I came out a bit nervous in Round 1 but I didn't fail again in the whole race and I accumulated zeros in all areas of the next two rounds. It's an unbeatable way to start the Championship and so is having achieved it in Andorra la Vella. Getting on the podium could already be decisive in the fight for the title, but the win and the performance have been ideal"
ADAM RAGA (P2)"I'm pleased to have started the season like this because I have open options to fight for the title in the second and decisive round in Barcelona. I rode at a high level throughout the race, but the mistake in the first section of the final made me lose chances of victory. The fight against the clock to cover some areas in both directions has made me rush"
JAIME BUSTO (P3)"This podium is a very satisfactory result because of what it represents in terms of the result, for the fact that I am back on the podium and because it reflects how comfortable I am feeling and how effective I am being this year at the controls of the Vertigo. I'm well positioned to fight for everything in Barcelona."
