Toni Bou leads the way on the first day of the German GP

Toni Bou climbed to the top of the podium in one of the most disputed races so far this season, where Bou himself, Raga and Cabestany played for victory until the last section.
The Trial de Gefrees, with twelve sections and three laps of the course, has been quite complicated after the rain that fell during the week and that, during the first hours of the day, has also accompanied the riders. The sections had little traction and you had to work hard with your body to be able to overcome the obstacles.
The leading trio proved uncatchable for the rest of the rivals, and only Fujinami had a timid approach to the leading times in the first part of the race.

The day began with a double tie between Bou and Cabestany on the first lap, while during the next pass to the zones it was Cabestany who took advantage at the front of the race, although Raga did not lose ground.
Everything pointed to the fact that the advantage obtained by Cabestany would serve him to score the victory, however he added a third partial with 10 points more than Bou and 8 more than Raga, again equaling the overall records, granting a final victory for Toni Bou with 35 points, followed by Raga with 37 points and Cabestany with 38 points.
The victory was not easy for Toni Bou, who is still convalescing from the injury to his right shoulder, which he suffered at the beginning of the first lap. The Spaniard took off the special bandage in order to be more comfortable, but a bad gesture in zone two caused the rider to attack the pain again. After a fiasco in that second zone and another in the third, Bou has put back on the bandage with which he has felt better and has been able to recover the points conceded in those areas to finish first and add the twenty points of this first day of competition of the German Trial.
Behind the podium positions, in fourth position, Fujinami with 56 points, followed by Fajardo, Busto, Dabill, Gelabert, Karlsson and Noguera completing the top 10.
In the Trial 2 category, victory went to Jack Price, followed by Luca Petrella and Arnau Farre. In 125 he won for Jaho Robrahn, Jack Peace and Max Faude.

GERMAN TRIAL GP QUOTES

Toni Bou: “I’m tired but very satisfied with how the race went. It wasn’t a good decision to remove the tape from my shoulder this morning because I had a very bad time in zone two. I also attribute the zone three fiasco to pain. Luckily, I was able to ride again with a minimum of strength and, after a very tight trial, I achieved the victory and I am very happy with these 20 points that I have scored in the general classification”.
Takahisa Fujinami: “It was a tricky day: on the first lap I did well in the difficult sections, but I failed in some easy sections. On the second lap I hit my leg that made me miss in some areas because I didn’t have much strength. Maybe I thought about it too much and it made me lose concentration, but fortunately, the final lap went better.”
Jaime Busto: “Today I went through one of those bumps that I don’t like to go through at all. I couldn’t find the rhythm, maybe I was too fast in the sections and… Failed. Too many mistakes, too many, especially in the first two laps. Tomorrow I’ll try to push myself harder, try to drive more slowly and hopefully the results will be better than today.”
