Toni Bou starts the season in command in Arnedillo

This weekend the first round of the SPEA RFME Spanish Trial Championship was held in Arnedillo, La Rioja. This has been disputed with nearly 100 registered who have had to overcome 12 zones on two occasions. These areas have been prepared by the Moto Club Calahorra, which has been in charge of the organization, doing a great job.

The fans of the town did not want to miss the spectacle offered by the drivers who gave their all every time they had to go into action. After the fantastic results that are being achieved, also this year, at an international level in the X-Trial World Championship (the only one that has already started), it was to be expected that Arnedillo would enjoy his quality on the bikes.

DECLARATIONS

Toni Bou

“I’m very happy with the start of the Spanish championship. It was a great race, very hard, because it was very easy and you couldn’t make mistakes. We saw yesterday that today everything would be very tight. It has taken a lot of effort to make a difference; All the riders are very strong and it will be a very difficult championship for sure, so it’s very important to start with a win.”

Jeroni Fajardo

“I’m very happy. It was a very tight race where we had to fight a lot in each area. After finishing fifth yesterday in qualifying, I couldn’t observe too much the lines of the other riders. However, I started well from the first area. We did two very good laps and in the end I was tied on points with Jaime, just two from the win. My highest number of zeros decided the tiebreaker. We fought for the win and I’m happy to start the year like this, with a second place, being at the front and showing that we’re there fighting.”

Jaime Busto

“I’m satisfied with how the race went, especially in terms of riding, feeling very comfortable with my GasGas. Luck was not on our side in the first half of the season. We punctured in zone ten and had to change the wheel, which led to a time penalty. However, the important thing is that we have been fighting for the victory. At the end of the second half of the season, we finished with the same points as Jeroni and only two points behind the first, so I’m very happy to start the year with a good result like this.”

Adam Raga

“It was a rather simple race, where it was difficult to recover from any mistakes or setbacks. My riding has been good in general, but I have made a few too many mistakes that have prevented me from fighting for the podium positions and the victory.”
