Toni Bou will get on the bike in Cal Rosal without knowing what the real state of the injury is

This coming weekend, Toni Bou begins the first of the eight battles that he will fight throughout the season and whose main and only objective is the conquest of the tenth world crown.

Toni Bou returns from injury
The Spaniard arrives at Olvan and Cal Rosal with reserves after the injury he suffered in his right shoulder (a partial rupture of the subscapular tendon) and which forced him to not participate in the race of the X-Trial of Nations World Championship to rest completely for a week. Bou has not been able to train as usual although he has mentally prepared for the opening race of the 2016 World Championship at his residence in Andorra. Friday’s tests will be decisive to see how the shoulder has evolved and in what conditions Toni Bou will face this first round.

Adam Raga makes his outdoor world championship debut with TRS

Toni Bou’s greatest rival in the 2015 World Cup faces the current campaign with new motivations, such as the support of TRS. This will allow the rider from Tarragona to focus on driving and forget the problems of last season with Gas Gas.

Adam has always shown a great adaptation to the non-stop regulations, so he is a great rival for Toni Bou.

Takahisa Fujinami, more than 20 years at the highest level
The Japanese rider of the Repsol Honda Team completed 20 seasons in the top competition, finishing in the top five in the world, and despite being the oldest in the paddock, Takahisa Fujinami is convinced that this year can be more positive than the last three seasons. More experience and also stronger in every way. Fujinami threatens to get the best out of ‘Fujigas’.

Jaime Busto wants to stop being “the surprise”
The young Basque rider Jaime Busto was last year’s rookie, finishing in sixth place at the end of the world championship season. In three races he was very close to getting on the podium, which will be Jaime’s goal in 2016. In the last round of the 2015 Spanish Championship he got the first position with the same rivals.

Martin Lampkin’s
Reminder
Last weekend, Martin Lampkin, former trial rider, first World Champion (1975) and father of seven-time champion Dougie Lampkin, passed away after a serious illness. Martin finished his racing career as a Montesa driver. The Repsol Honda Team has not forgotten the figure of this great iconic rider and will pay tribute in the race by wearing a black ribbon on the arms of its riders.
