The Spanish Indoor Trial Championship has started in Zaragoza with a victory for Toni Bou, who has now accumulated six unbeatable editions on Aragonese soil.

The Repsol Montesa Honda rider, who has won twelve world titles, today inaugurated the general classification of the national championship in front of the Zaragoza public, already faithful to an event that has been held here for 23 years.

In the preliminary round, Iván Peydró, Pere Borrellas, Francesc Moret, Jeroni Fajardo and Pol Tarres were eliminated and this despite the fact that the latter was closely encouraged by his famous uncle, the 7-time Trial World Champion Jordi Tarrès.

Pol executed the zones well, taking over obstacles of great difficulty, but finally some mistakes left him out of the final battle , as well as Fajardo, who also had a good start.

Thus, the final was debated between the wheels of Adam Raga, Albert Cabestany and Toni Bou, but soon the former ran out of chances and left the fight in the hands of Cabestany and Bou.

Although very tight in points at certain times, finally Bou’s power was felt and after completing several of the most complicated sections without fail, The Repsol Montesa Honda rider claimed the victory of the race and, with it, the provisional leadership of the national indoor trial championship.

The next round of the Championship will take place in Girona on November 1st, and it will decide who is the 2012 Spanish Champion of this two-wheeled specialty.

Toni Bou: “After a long time without having competed in any indoor trials I was comfortable, I enjoyed it a lot, especially on the second lap, and of course I feel very satisfied with this new victory. It wasn’t an easy victory, I’ve said a few times that winning always demands a lot and in this case there was added pressure because being such a short championship any mistake, any false step, no matter how small, decisively influences the final result.”
