Toni Bou X-Trial World Champion 2018

Toni Bou has been proclaimed X-Trial World Champion 2018. The Repsol Honda Team rider has won his 12th indoor title after one of the scoring races was cancelled and the points gap over his rivals was made good, mathematically giving him the title before the end of the championship.

After the
cancellation of the XTrial in Seville
, which the International Motorcycling Federation has not finally replaced, Toni Bou has secured the world title at stake. The Repsol Honda Team rider has now won a total of 23 crowns, 12 indoor and 11 outdoor.
Toni Bou’s participation has been doubtful until the end of this week, as the brave Piera rider was recovering from the
serious accident suffered in the XTrial at Le Mans
, when he fractured three vertebrae in a heavy fall.
Toni Bou’s

dominance has been absolute this season, with five wins in the five events played so far (Vendée, Montpellier, Toulouse, Strasbourg and Barcelona). These wins gave Toni Bou a lead over second-placed Adam Raga of 31 points heading into the start of the race in Paris.
With the new regulations approved for this season, each driver can rule out the worst result obtained. In this way, and without having to wait for the next race, the Repsol Honda Team rider has secured the twelfth consecutive FIM X-Trial World Championship title (indoor), the 23rd of his career since winning his first in 2007.
The Repsol Honda Team rider has achieved a total of 57 victories in his 80 races in the indoor competition, which represents 70.9% of his participations.

I’m very happy to get this 12th title; It’s more than a dream to get here. This season has been fantastic: I had a great start that gave me this advantage that allowed me to get the title two races before the end of the X-Trial calendar. I think I’ve ridden very well, I’ve taken five wins in the five races and that’s made a big difference, it’s what I’m most proud of.
