Toni Bou has just been mathematically proclaimed X-Trial World Champion 2020 after the penultimate round of the Championship, scheduled for March 21 in the Austrian town of Wiener Neustadt, was cancelled.
The coronavirus crisis is hitting trial hard, especially in the indoor discipline, where most countries are banning indoor events that involve ticket sales. This has already happened with the X-Trial of Nations and today the cancellation of the X-Trial in Austria is confirmed.
This cancellation means the 2020 world title for Toni Bou, who has five consecutive victories and only 25 points left to play, with the distance to his closest pursuer, Adam Raga, being 25 points.
With this new title, Toni Bou now has 14 indoor titles, consolidating himself as the best rider in the history of motorcycling with 27 world titles between outdoor and indoor trials.
