Toni Bou’s brace and several titles decided in Pobladura

With a very changeable weather where there has been rain, air and sun, the second of the two days of competition that were scheduled for this weekend in the province of León has been held.

After the
first day of the race in Pobladura de las Regueras -see chronicle-
yesterday where the intense rain was the protagonist, today the race was dry so the riders did the sections better and had fewer penalties on their cards. With this second day, six of the twelve categories convened in Pobladura have been defined.
TR1 Podium Pobladura Trial 2018

BERTA ABELLÁN, SPANISH CHAMPION

One of the most equal has been Women’s A, where Berta Abellán and Neus Murcia have fought in each area to be the best. In the end, Vertigo’s has won the title.

Berta’s first statements after her conquest were these:

“The season has been quite close and the two days yesterday and today even more so I’m very happy to have won the Championship.”

In Women’s B, Idoia Pey has won the Championship despite being fourth this Sunday. Gaudí Vall is the best in Juvenil A in 2018, Marc Piquer in Juvenil B, Antoni Ramonet in Veterano and David Oliver in E-Trial.

OLIVER TAKES THE TITLE OF ELECTRICIANS

Precisely this last category has been the first time to be convened and given that the necessary tests have been held and there have been the registered riders that the regulations set for it to be valid, we can say that Spain already has its National E-Trial Trophy in history.

As a curiosity, its first champion, David Oliver, is also the creator and inventor of the bike he has ridden and that has taken him to the top step of the podium.

EQUALITY BETWEEN BOU AND RAGA IN TR1

In TR1 today things were very tight between Toni Bou and Adam Raga. Both were level on points at the end of the day, although it was the rider from Montesa who took the win, leaving Raga second and Jaime Busto third.

The key to the race was at the end of the first lap, which ended with Toni Bou punctured, scoring five points in the last section and two extra points for time. His impeccable second half of the season, to zero, with only one point per time was key to adding the double of the weekend.
According to Toni Bou:

Today I rode very well on the bike, maybe even better than yesterday, but I accumulated a lot of points at the end of the first lap: I was very short of time, I came in with a puncture and I penalized the fiasco and time… It was a lot of points in minutes. In a race with few points, it was too much of a concession, but we were able to do a very good second lap and get a very important victory in the championship. We arrived with a one-point advantage and came away with 19 in favour, which is great.

Fourth position for Cabestany, followed by an even fight between Casales and Fajardo, who suffered an injury in the seventh zone. Despite the injury, the Catalan continued and achieved a meritorious sixth place, which adds to the fifth place he achieved yesterday, after some problems on his bike. According to initial observations, Fajardo has suffered a sprain and further tests will be carried out in the coming hours to determine the extent of the injury.

“It’s been a bad weekend for me. Yesterday things didn’t work out and today I suffered a crash in the seventh section of the first lap. I made a mistake, I fell and injured my left foot. My foot bothered me throughout the race and in the end I finished sixth. I haven’t had any tests yet, but I hope to recover as soon as possible and be 100% ready for the next TrialGP race in France.”

In this way, Toni Bou consolidates himself as a solid leader at the head of the provisional standings with 75 points, 56 for Busto and 55 for Fajardo.
According to Jaime Busto:

“It’s been a good weekend, from less to more. On Friday qualifying didn’t go the way we wanted and yesterday the trial started with some problems but we were able to recover thanks to a great second lap. Today’s trial was very close and some small mistakes left us in third position. But I’m very happy with the feeling with the bike. Congratulations to the whole team.”

ERIC MIQUEL’S BRACE IN TR2

In TR2 the fight was between Eric Miquel and Pablo Suárez with P1 for the TRRS rider. Rodrigo Marchal has won in Junior after facing Pol Mediña and Francesc Recio in TR3 after doing the same with David Millán. Lluc Miquel and Carlos Palma fought for the victory in the Cadet category and Álvaro Blázquez and Sergio Puyo in the TR4 category.
