Trial-E: a possible Olympic sport at Paris 2024

The FIM (International Motorcycling Federation) will fight to make the Trial-E Olympic, a category created last year 2017 and for which there is already a world championship, made with 100% sustainable electric motorcycles.

A team from the federation met with the IOC (International Olympic Committee) that will carry out the Paris 2024 games to add it as one of the five extra disciplines that will be added to the usual sports and that do not have a fixed place, as they will change.

It is a suitable candidacy for the IOC as it meets the necessary requirements, suitable for both women and men, young sport, spectacularity, does not require infrastructures, is practiced on all continents and respects the environment.
The option to add 5 non-Olympic sports has already been implemented for the Tokyo 2020 games, where softball (women’s version of baseball), karate, surfing, skateboarding and climbing become Olympic disciplines. Through this route, the fight will be made to take trial to the Olympics, which would be a historic step for this sport.

The new president of the FIM, Jorge Viegas, is clear:

“We are convinced that the Paris Games represent a historic opportunity to allow Trial E to become the first motorsport discipline to be part of the Games. This grand presentation will be the foundation of a strong relationship between the IOC, the FIM and the Olympic family for many years to come.”

This shortlist does not confirm being in Paris at all, it would only mean a step that would be resolved after the Tokyo 2020 games. The championship is currently booming after the success of 2018, where Frenchman Loris Gubian won the championship after a tight fight with Kuroyama.
